Along the Frozen Red River |
I have to say it's the best money I have ever spent. The year has been full of a lot of firsts for me. Thanks to the Quest, I have finished my first 400 km Brevet and my first 600 km Brevet. I have gone from being the old guy that finishes last to the guy that can finish an hour ahead of everyone else in a 200 km Brevet. My picture has appeared in 3 newspapers that I know about. I still get my picture taken every time I ride. I no longer look at the wind forecast, I just ride to work anyway. The list goes on and on. It's been a great first year. The most important thing is I have had FUN...
Congrats, what a distance! And you still ride, in this weather? Chapeau!
ReplyDeleteHi Kevin,
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! An impressive distance for your neighbourhood! I agree with your comment that it's the best money ever spend, buying a velomobile, I feel the same about that. And yes, still having fun to.....
Keep on going! There are more years and fun to come!
Greetings, Adri.
Well ridden! I'd have to check, but I think I did about 8000 km this year. And you're absolutely right: riding a velomobile is nothing but fun, every time.
ReplyDeleteIt costs quite some money, but it's worth it, without any doubt.
After posting this I have to stop riding for a couple of days. We had 22 cm of fresh snow. The streets didn't get cleared very well and the temperature is now -27C this morning. I rode yesterday and talk about a rough ride. I don't think year 2 will have as many km. if the winter stays like this. But even if it's cold out, the ride is still fun.
ReplyDeleteWhat a difference: overhere temperature should rise to 7° C today and it's completely dry. Perfect weather for the Kobra. Should stay like that for the rest of the week. That's a lot easier than over 20cm of snow!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your first year Kevin! It's been nice to tag along on your adventures. Wishing you a mild winter, Stuart
ReplyDeleteStuart, Thanks.
DeleteThis morning when I rode to work it was only -28C but the wind chill made it feel like -40C. I hear it's coming your way next. :) Kevin
minus 28C...that’s chilly man...here at the coast in the Netherlands it normaly stay's around zero but not now.
DeleteIt’s still very warm at 7 or 8 degrees.
